As a writer I feel that I do better when I have a deadline but I can still write about what I want to. I think that I need to work on grammar and when to use syntax and things like that I also feel that I need to work on writing long essays and short stories. My problem with short stories is I always make them long than they need to be.

We are the best by default.
In this world every person in a room is better at something than anyone no matter what it may be. In “Harrison Bergeron” a dictator with the name of Diana Moon Glampers is in control of the world. To make everyone the same by giving people handicaps like putting in a small radio in people’s ear and every 20 seconds if they are smarter than others. In this Irony the world is equal and all is suppose to be fair but Diana Moon Glampers is not handicapped everyone else in the world cannot
think about with the handicaps. Is the world a better place equal?
With handicaps we are all the same expect for Harrison Bergeron. Harrison is a beast that is in a cage that might as well be open. The handicaps that he was given were so powerful that a gorilla would have trouble getting the off weights and he was so smart that he needed mega sized headphones so that no thoughts could pass. But Harrison was so powerful nothing even of that power could stop him. Harrison’s parents were watching ballerinas on T.V dance when Harrison came on the T.V and said "I shall now select my Empress! Let the first woman who dares rise to her feet claim her mate and her throne!" The strongest and the smartest ballerina stood she was also the most beautiful ballerina. The Emperor and the Empress were dancing when Diana Moon Glampers walked in with a double barrel ten gauge shotgun and fired they both died before they hit the floor. Miss Bergeron watches the tragic death of her son but yet she cried then minutes late she knew nothing and Mister Bergeron miss the whole event to grab a beer. Missing the death of his son and not ever been able to hear about it from the mother of his child/wife is as tragic as the death.
In this Irony is it better to have nobody be better at anything than anyone or is it better to be great. In a way if we can’t be better than we can’t be free. In a world without freedom is living worth anything if you are all the same and you are under a dictator with no chance of freedom by yourself. So even being better at something is a form of freedom.

How close did we get to killing Osama Bin Laden?
The most wanted man in the world Osama Bin Laden is being hunted since the world found out he was behind 9/11. Not many people actually know how close we came to killing him. Dalton Fury was the leader of the delta task force that was hunting Osama Bin Laden. Dalton says in his books and in interviews he was “within 2000 meters of the most wanted man in the world” (Author). Dalton Also has a website where he talks about his book. (Fury).

Monster
Most People think that we have a great justice but people don’t see the flaw in it. Hundreds of people are accused about crimes they did not commit. In 1982 Alton Logan was accused of first degree murder. His Two attorneys know he was innocent but they stayed silent. He was finally released in 2008 after 26 years. What could have been the reason that they stayed silent? Was it race or something else that caused an innocent man to be put in jail?
Steve may have been in the same place if he did not show that he was not like the people that did that crime. He was only in jail for six months but he was still scarred like any other innocent person in jail. Race could have played a factor in how this case may have turned out. In Monster Steve was found innocent but I think in real life he may have been found guilty; Due to things such as unfound info, human error, and even racism.
Lots of people also think that we can get just about all the info about crimes. But really even crimes from twenty years ago can’t be solved with modern DNA technology. With the Alton Logan story there must have been some kind of info that not was not found out now to solve this case.
Our justice system is flawed but there are more people that did crimes in jail then innocent people yes there is always going to be racism and human error that cause us to put the wrong person in jail. Maybe we need to be a lot picker on who we pick as the jury to insure that we have the correct outcome.

Response to Speak
Melinda Sordino called the cop to break up an end of summer party. Now all her friend hate her and people she does not even know hate her. She was drunk why would she even think of calling the cops. Something must have happened that made her call the cops.
Melinda Sordino quickly realizes that she hates high school and it is not going to get better any time soon. She has no friend the only person she talks to is this girl named heather. She is not a friend like Melinda wants who are joining clubs and wants to go to prom and be the queen but Melinda need someone to talk to. The school keeps changing the mascots the started as the Trojans and finished as the hornets but there were many before that. Like the wombats, the tigers, the blue devils. What really happened at the party is she was raped under a tree ever time she sees a tree branch rattle in the wind she thinks of that moment. Andy Evans was the creep that did it and now he is looking to do the same with her former best friend.
Rape is not a joke it is never funny and it should never be taken lightly tell your parent or somebody you can trust. She got attack by Andy and all most got raped again if she told he parents Andy Evans would be in jail and she would be safe.

Patriotism
What is a patriot, almost all of the people you ask this question to would say it is someone who would die for their country? That is true but is that the only answer. No a patriot is anyone who does something for the better of their country, from making a desk for a child to sit in to fighting for their country. There are true patriots ever where.

October Sky
October Sky
On a brisk October morning around fifty degrees, ducks and geese are flying into the fields and potholes to feed for the morning. Hunters are waiting for the ducks to fly in with speed and stealth but not on this pothole. The hunters have guns, camouflaged clothes, and decoys. The ducks see other ducks flying in and landing in the water. They circle the water three times then decided to land. As they came done the hunters whispered “these four are ours”.
The ducks were within twenty feet of the water when they realized something was wrong they turned left to leave but by then it was too late. BOOM the guns were blazing two ducks fell one of the hunters exclaimed “Double”.
Two ducks survived the onslaught the ducks quacked “That was to close what happened where are Bill and Jack”.
“Their gone forever” exclaimed Tim.
“Well if we can’t land in the water where are we supposed to land” Asked Tim?
“We can land in a field and get some barley to eat” panted Kenny.
The ducks went straight to the field and did not stop till they made it to there. Tim saw a flash and tried to talk Kenny out of landing in the middle of the field but Kenny would not listen. Kenny quacked “There are other ducks over there we will be OK”.
Tim and Kenny went there different ways. Kenny went down the middle and Tim went to the right thinking it would be safer. He was right but he wished he had not been after what happened to Kenny. BOOM Bang Kenny dropped and hit the ground hard. A yellow dog ran out and bit Kenny and carried him off into the high grass. Tim now knows where to stay away from to not end up like Kenny and the others. Tim flew around till he found a big lake. He landed in the middle and nothing happened he now knows to stay away for the high grass and stay away from other ducks. Tim stayed alive for two weeks but he was going to land in the middle and there were cattails over there he thought it would be safe but this time was his last mistake. Bang Tim hit the water a brown dog ran out trying to pick him up. He was jumping trying to fly but it was no use he had a broken wing. He finally got bite and was brought to the cattails like all of his friends it was over. The dog dropped the duck in front of a young boy around the age of twelve. “Nice shot son” exclaimed a man.
"Thanks dad" whispered the young boy.
